RE: The tariff classification of gloves from the United Arab Emirates.

Dear Mrs. Spurgeon:

In your letter dated April 4, 2002, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of Impact Products, LLC.

The provided sample, style AC5-440-072-9N, is a nylon string-knit glove with a nitrile dip coating which covers the complete palmside and overlaps the backside fingers and sides. The glove weight breakdown is 50% nitrile coating 50% nylon fabric. The submitted glove features a ribbed knit wrist with an overlock stitch finish

The applicable subheading for the gloves will be 6116.10.5520, HTS, which provides for Gloves, mittens and mitts, knitted or crocheted: impregnated, coated or covered with plastics or rubber: other: without fourchettes: other: containing 50 percent or more by weight of cotton, man-made fibers or other textile fibers, or any combination thereof . . . subject to man-made fiber restraints. The duty rate will be 13.4 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
